Anti-interferon alpha 8 antibodies are used for the immunodetection of the protein encoded by the IFNA8 gene. In humans, the canonical protein has a reported length of 189 amino acid residues and a mass of 22 kDa. It is known to be a secreted protein. A member of the Alpha/beta interferon protein family, it is known to be involved with adaptive immune responses and B cell differentiation. Other names for this target antigen include IFN-alpha-8, interferon alpha type 201, interferon alpha-B, interferon alpha-B', interferon alpha-B2, and IFN-alphaB. Gene orthologs have been identified in the mouse, rat and chimpanzee species. Over 110 citations in the literature describe the use of interferon alpha 8 antibodies in research. Western Blot is a widely used application for these antibodies. In addition, ELISA is also a common application.
