Anti-PDLIM7 antibodies are used in the immunodetection of the protein PDZ and LIM domain 7. In humans, the canonical protein has a reported length of 457 amino acid residues and a mass of 49.8 kDa. Its subcellular localization is in the cytoplasm. Up to 6 different isoforms have been reported for this protein. It is notably expressed in the heart muscle and skeletal muscle. PDLIM7 is believed to function as a a scaffold on which the coordinated assembly of proteins can occur. PDLIM7 is also used as a cellular marker for characterizing astrocytes. Synonyms for this target antigen include LMP3, PDZ and LIM domain protein 7, 1110003B01Rik, LIM domain protein, LMP, and LMP1. PDLIM7 gene orthologs have been reported in the mouse, rat, bovine, frog, zebrafish, chimpanzee and chicken species. A number of PDLIM7 antibodies have been mentioned in research publications and have associated citations. Western Blot is a widely used application for these antibodies. ELISA and Immunohistochemistry are also common applications.
