Anti-TNFa antibodies are protein reagents that detect specific antigens. The TNFa antigen is another term for the human protein tumor necrosis factor, encoded by the TNF gene. The protein is a reported to be a cytokine that binds to TNFRSF1A/TNFR1 and TNFRSF1B/TNFBR. Canonically, it has an amino acid length of 233 residues and a mass of 25.6 kilodaltons. Its subcellular localization is in the cell membrane and is secreted. It is expressed in the tonsil. The TNFa protein is a member of the Tumor necrosis factor protein family. Other alias names for TNFa include DIF and TNF-alpha. Some TNFa antibodies may have been used in research and have associated citations. ELISA is a widely used application for these antibodies.
