Anti-Layilin antibodies are used for the immunodetection of the protein encoded by the LAYN gene. In humans, the canonical protein has a reported length of 382 amino acid residues and a mass of 43.1 kDa. Its subcellular localization is in the membrane. Alternative splicing is reported to yield 3 different isoforms for this protein. It is a known receptor for hyaluronate. Post-translational modifications have been described, including glycosylation. Gene orthologs have been identified in the mouse, rat, bovine, frog, zebrafish and chimpanzee species. Some Layilin antibodies may have been used in research and have associated citations. Western Blot is a widely used application for these antibodies. In addition, ELISA is also a common application.
