Anti-IRBP antibodies are used in antigen-specific immunodetection in biological samples. The target IRBP is a known alias name of the protein growth factor receptor bound protein 10, encoded by the GRB10 gene in humans. This 594-amino acid residue protein is reported to be an adapter protein, which modulates coupling of a number of cell surface receptor kinases with specific signaling pathways. It is localized to the cytoplasm of the cell and features phosphorylated post-translational modifications. In terms of tissue expression, it is found to be widely expressed in fetal and adult tissues, including fetal and postnatal liver, lung, kidney, skeletal muscle, heart, spleen, skin and brain.
