Anti-Gbeta antibodies enable researchers to detect and measure the Gbeta antigen in biological samples. This target is a reported synonym of the SUCLG2 gene, which encodes succinate-CoA ligase GDP-forming subunit beta. This protein is known to function in metabolic processes, among other biological roles. The human version of Gbeta has a canonical amino acid length of 432 residues and a protein mass of 46.5 kilodaltons, although 2 isoforms have been identified. It is reported to be localized in the mitochondria of cells and widely expressed in many tissue types. Other names for this target antigen include G-SCS and GTPSCS.
