Anti-LIP1 antibodies enable researchers to detect and measure the LIP1 antigen in biological samples. This target is a reported synonym of the PPFIA1 gene, which encodes PTPRF interacting protein alpha 1. This protein is known to function in brain development and cell matrix adhesion, among other biological roles. The human version of LIP1 has a canonical amino acid length of 1202 residues and a protein mass of 135.8 kilodaltons, although 2 isoforms have been identified. It is reported to be localized in the cytoplasm of cells. LIP1 is a member of the Liprin protein family.
