Anti-PEX11B antibodies are used in the immunodetection of the protein peroxisomal biogenesis factor 11 beta. In humans, the canonical protein has a reported length of 259 amino acid residues and a mass of 28.4 kDa. Its subcellular localization is in the peroxisomes. Up to 2 different isoforms have been reported for this protein. It is notably widely expressed in many tissue types. A member of the Peroxin-11 protein family, PEX11B is known to be involved in peroxisomal proliferation. The PEX11B gene has been associated with the disease, Peroxisome biogenesis disorder. Synonyms for this target antigen include PEX11beta, PEX14B, peroxisomal membrane protein 11B, peroxin-11B, peroxisomal biogenesis factor 11B, and PEX11-BETA. PEX11B gene orthologs have been reported in the mouse, rat, bovine, frog, zebrafish, chimpanzee and chicken species. Some PEX11B antibodies may have been used in research and have associated citations. Western Blot is a widely used application for these antibodies. ELISA, Immunofluorescence, and Immunohistochemistry are also common applications.
