Anti-Thioredoxin interacting protein antibodies are directed against the protein encoded by the gene TXNIP in humans. The gene may also be known as VDUP1, ARRDC6, EST01027, HHCPA78, THIF, thioredoxin binding protein 2, and upregulated by 1,25-dihydroxyvitamin D-3. Structurally, the protein is reported to be 43.7 kilodaltons in mass. Based on gene name, canine, porcine, monkey, mouse and rat orthologs may also be found.
