Anti-IGHG4 antibodies are used in the immunodetection of the protein immunoglobulin heavy constant gamma 4 (G4m marker). In humans, the canonical protein has a reported length of 396 amino acid residues and a mass of 43.8 kDa. Its subcellular localization is in the cell membrane and is secreted. Up to 2 different isoforms have been reported for this protein. It is notably expressed in many tissues, such as the bone marrow and placenta. IGHG4 is known to be involved with adaptive immune responses. Post-translational modifications have been described, including glycosylation. Over 170 citations in the literature describe the use of IGHG4 antibodies in research. Immunohistochemistry is a widely used application for these antibodies. In addition, ELISA is also a common application.
