Anti-ANKS6 antibodies are used in the immunodetection of the protein ankyrin repeat and sterile alpha motif domain containing 6. In humans, the canonical protein has a reported length of 871 amino acid residues and a mass of 92.2 kDa. Its subcellular localization is in the cell projections and cytoplasm. Up to 3 different isoforms have been reported for this protein. It is notably widely expressed in many tissue types. ANKS6 is known to be required for renal function. The ANKS6 gene has been associated with the disease, Nephronophthisis. Synonyms for this target antigen include SAM domain-containing protein 6, ankyrin repeat domain 14, samCystin, and ankyrin repeat and SAM domain-containing protein 6. ANKS6 gene orthologs have been reported in the mouse, rat, bovine, frog, chimpanzee and chicken species. A number of ANKS6 antibodies have been mentioned in research publications and have associated citations. Immunohistochemistry is a widely used application for these antibodies. ELISA, Western Blot, and Immunofluorescence are also common applications.
