Anti-CIM antibodies enable researchers to detect and measure the CIM antigen in biological samples. This target is a reported synonym of the ERLEC1 gene, which encodes endoplasmic reticulum lectin 1. This protein is a suspected lectin that binds selectively to improperly folded lumenal proteins. The human version of CIM has a canonical amino acid length of 483 residues and a protein mass of 54.9 kilodaltons, although 3 isoforms have been identified. It is reported to be localized in the ER of cells and widely expressed in many tissue types. This target antigen may also be known as C2orf30.
