Anti-OTOGL antibodies are used in the immunodetection of the protein otogelin like. In humans, the canonical protein has a reported length of 2353 amino acid residues and a mass of 264.6 kDa. It has been described to be a secreted protein. It is notably expressed at high levels in fetal inner ear and heart. A member of the Otogelin protein family, OTOGL is known to be involved with metabolic processes. Post-translational modifications have been described, including glycosylation. The OTOGL gene has been associated with the disease, Deafness. Synonyms for this target antigen include otogelin-like protein. OTOGL gene orthologs have been reported in the mouse, rat, bovine, frog, zebrafish, chimpanzee and chicken species. These OTOGL antibodies are widely used in Western Blot experiments, among other applications.
