Anti-Pentraxin 3 antibodies are directed against the protein encoded by the gene PTX3 in humans. The gene may also be known as TNFAIP5, pentraxin 3, long, TSG-14, pentraxin-related protein PTX3, and TNF alpha-induced protein 5. Structurally, the protein is reported to be 42 kilodaltons in mass. Based on gene name, canine, porcine, monkey, mouse and rat orthologs may also be found.
