Anti-acetyl-CoA antibody products are available for the immunodetection of targets such as acetyl-CoA carboxylase or acetyl-CoA synthetase. In humans, acetyl-CoA carboxylase (ACC) exists in alpha and beta isoforms, expressed with the genes ACACA and ACACB, respectively. This enzyme produces malonyl-CoA, a key substrate in the biosynthesis of fatty acids. The ligase acetyl-CoA synthetase catalyzes the combination of acetate and coenzyme A to produce acetyl-CoA, a biomolecule involved in many metabolic reactions.
