Anti-GALR3 antibodies are used in the immunodetection of the protein galanin receptor 3. In humans, the canonical protein has a reported length of 368 amino acid residues and a mass of 39.6 kDa. Its subcellular localization is in the cell membrane. A member of the G-protein coupled receptor 1 protein family, GALR3 is a known receptor for the hormone galanin. Post-translational modifications have been described, including glycosylation. Synonyms for this target antigen include GAL3-R, galanin receptor, family member 3, and galanin receptor type 3. GALR3 gene orthologs have been reported in the mouse, rat, bovine, frog, chimpanzee and chicken species. A number of GALR3 antibodies have been mentioned in research publications and have associated citations. Immunohistochemistry is a widely used application for these antibodies. ELISA, Western Blot, and Immunofluorescence are also common applications.
