Anti-PS2 antibodies are protein reagents that detect specific antigens. The PS2 antigen is another term for the human protein presenilin 2, encoded by the PSEN2 gene. The protein is a suspected catalytic subunit of the gamma-secretase complex, an endoprotease complex that catalyzes the intramembrane cleavage of integral membrane proteins such as Notch receptors and APP (amyloid-beta precursor protein). Canonically, it has an amino acid length of 448 residues and a mass of 50.1 kilodaltons. Its subcellular localization is in the ER and Golgi. The PS2 protein is a member of the Peptidase A22A protein family.
