Anti-Stop antibodies are used in antigen-specific immunodetection in biological samples. The target Stop is a known alias name of the protein microtubule associated protein 6, encoded by the MAP6 gene in humans. This 813-amino acid residue protein is known to be involved in microtubule stabilization in many cell types, including neuronal cells (By similarity). It is localized to the cytoplasmic vesicles, Golgi, and cytoplasm of the cell and features palmitoylated post-translational modifications. In terms of tissue expression, it is reported to be expressed in the brain. Other synonyms for Stop include MAP6-N, MTAP6, and N-STOP.
