Anti-XBP-1 antibodies enable researchers to detect and measure the XBP-1 antigen in biological samples. This target is a reported synonym of the XBP1 gene, which encodes X-box binding protein 1. This protein is known to function in adipose tissue development and angiogenesis, among other biological roles. The human version of XBP-1 has a canonical amino acid length of 261 residues and a protein mass of 28.7 kilodaltons, although 2 isoforms have been identified. It is reported to be localized in the ER of cells. Other names for this target antigen include TREB-5, TREB5, and XBP2. Over 570 citations in the literature describe the use of XBP-1 antibodies in research. Western Blot is a widely used application for these antibodies. ELISA, Immunocytochemistry, Immunofluorescence, and Immunohistochemistry are also common applications.
