Anti-LH antibodies enable researchers to detect and measure the LH antigen in biological samples. This target is a reported synonym of the PLOD1 gene, which encodes procollagen-lysine,2-oxoglutarate 5-dioxygenase 1. This protein is known to function in epidermis development, among other biological roles. The human version of LH has a canonical amino acid length of 727 residues and a protein mass of 83.6 kilodaltons, although 2 isoforms have been identified. It is reported to be localized in the ER and membrane of cells. Other names for this target antigen include EDS6 and EDSKCL1.
