Anti-GIPC3 antibodies are used in the immunodetection of the protein GIPC PDZ domain containing family member 3. In humans, the canonical protein has a reported length of 312 amino acid residues and a mass of 34 kDa. It is found to be widely expressed in adult and fetal tissues. A member of the GIPC protein family, GIPC3 is known to be required for postnatal maturation of the hair bundle and long-term survival of hair cells and spiral ganglion. The GIPC3 gene has been associated with the disease, Deafness. Synonyms for this target antigen include PDZ domain-containing protein GIPC3. GIPC3 gene orthologs have been reported in the mouse, rat, bovine, frog, zebrafish and chicken species. Some GIPC3 antibodies may have been used in research and have associated citations. Western Blot is a widely used application for these antibodies. In addition, ELISA is also a common application.
