Anti-SHISA6 antibodies are used in the immunodetection of the protein shisa family member 6. In humans, the canonical protein has a reported length of 500 amino acid residues and a mass of 55.8 kDa. Its subcellular localization is in the membrane. Up to 3 different isoforms have been reported for this protein. It is reported to be expressed in the developing ventral mesencephalon. A member of the Shisa protein family, SHISA6 is known to be involved in maintenance of high-frequency synaptic transmission at hippocampal CA3-CA1 synapses. Post-translational modifications have been described, including glycosylation. Synonyms for this target antigen include protein shisa-6 homolog, shisa homolog 6, and protein shisa-6. SHISA6 gene orthologs have been reported in the mouse, rat, bovine, frog, chimpanzee and chicken species. Western Blot is the most common application for the SHISA6 antibodies listed below. ELISA and Immunohistochemistry are also common applications.
