Anti-RANTES antibodies enable researchers to detect and measure the RANTES antigen in biological samples. This target is a reported synonym of the CCL5 gene, which encodes C-C motif chemokine ligand 5. This protein is known to function in the transport of ions and cell to cell signaling, among other biological roles. The human version of RANTES has a canonical amino acid length of 91 residues and a protein mass of 10 kilodaltons. It is reported to be a secreted protein that is notably expressed in the rectum, endometrium, colon, bone marrow, and appendix. Other names for this target antigen include D17S136E and SCYA5. Western Blot is the most common application for the RANTES antibodies listed below. ELISA and Immunohistochemistry are also common applications.
