Anti-Dendrin antibodies are used in the immunodetection of the protein encoded by the DDN gene. In humans, the canonical protein has a reported length of 711 amino acid residues and a mass of 76 kDa. Its subcellular localization is in the membrane, nucleus, cell projections, ER, and cytoplasm. It is notably expressed in the brain and kidney. It is reported to promote apoptosis of kidney glomerular podocytes.
