Anti-CBP20 antibodies are used in antigen-specific immunodetection in biological samples. The target CBP20 is a known alias name of the protein nuclear cap binding protein subunit 2, encoded by the NCBP2 gene in humans. This 156-amino acid residue protein is a known component of the cap-binding complex (CBC), which binds co-transcriptionally to the 5' cap of pre-mRNAs and is involved in various processes such as pre-mRNA splicing, translation regulation, nonsense-mediated mRNA decay, RNA-mediated gene silencing (RNAi) by microRNAs (miRNAs) and mRNA export. It is localized to the nucleus and cytoplasm of the cell. It is reported to be widely expressed in many tissue types. Other synonyms for CBP20 include CBC2 and NIP1. Some CBP20 antibodies may have been used in research and have associated citations. Western Blot is a widely used application for these antibodies. In addition, ELISA is also a common application.
