Anti-GluR1 antibodies are used in antigen-specific immunodetection in biological samples. The target GluR1 is a known alias name of the protein glutamate ionotropic receptor AMPA type subunit 1, encoded by the GRIA1 gene in humans. This 906-amino acid residue protein is known to be involved in chemical synaptic transmission and signal transduction pathways, among other biological processes. It is localized to the cell membrane of the cell and features glycosylated, palmitoylated and phosphorylated post-translational modifications.
