Anti-TSPAN18 antibodies are used in the immunodetection of the protein tetraspanin 18. In humans, the canonical protein has a reported length of 248 amino acid residues and a mass of 27.7 kDa. Its subcellular localization is in the membrane. A member of the Tetraspanin (TM4SF) protein family, TSPAN18 is known to be involved with cellular localization and inflammatory response pathways. Post-translational modifications have been described, including glycosylation. The TSPAN18 marker can be used to identify Medulla Oblongata Splatter Neurons.* TSPAN18 gene orthologs have been reported in the mouse, rat, bovine, frog, chimpanzee and chicken species. Some TSPAN18 antibodies may have been used in research and have associated citations. ELISA and Western Blot are common applications for these antibodies.
