The gene may also be known as H2B.1, H2B/l, H2BFL, dJ221C16.3, histone H2B type 1-C/E/F/G/I, and H2B histone family, member L. Structurally, the protein is reported to be 13.9 kilodaltons in mass. Based on gene name, mouse and rat orthologs may also be found.
