Anti-XPC complex subunit, DNA damage recognition and repair factor antibodies are directed against the protein encoded by the gene XPC in humans. The gene may also be known as RAD4, XP3, XPCC, p125, DNA repair protein complementing XP-C cells, and mutant xeroderma pigmentosum group C. Structurally, the protein is reported to be 106 kilodaltons in mass. Based on gene name, fly, canine, porcine, monkey, mouse and rat orthologs may also be found.
