Anti-QPRT antibodies are used in the immunodetection of the protein quinolinate phosphoribosyltransferase. In humans, the canonical protein has a reported length of 297 amino acid residues and a mass of 30.8 kDa. A member of a the NadC/ModD protein family, QPRT is reported to be involved in catabolism of quinolinic acid (QA). Synonyms for this target antigen include QPRTase, nicotinate-nucleotide pyrophosphorylase [carboxylating], epididymis secretory sperm binding protein Li 90n, nicotinate-nucleotide pyrophosphorylase (carboxylating), and HEL-S-90n.
