Anti-Protein inhibitor of activated STAT 1 antibodies are directed against the protein encoded by the gene PIAS1 in humans. The gene may also be known as GU/RH-II, DDXBP1, GBP, ZMIZ3, E3 SUMO-protein ligase PIAS1, and AR interacting protein. Structurally, the protein is reported to be 71.8 kilodaltons in mass. Based on gene name, canine, porcine, monkey, mouse and rat orthologs may also be found.
