Anti-PMS1 antibodies are used in the immunodetection of the protein PMS1 homolog 1, mismatch repair system component. In humans, the canonical protein has a reported length of 932 amino acid residues and a mass of 105.8 kDa. Its subcellular localization is in the nucleus. Alternative splicing is reported to yield 4 different isoforms for this protein. A member of a the DNA mismatch repair MutL/HexB protein family, PMS1 is suspected to be involved in the repair of mismatches in DNA. Synonyms for this target antigen include MLH2, PMSL1, hPMS1, PMS1 protein homolog 1, DNA mismatch repair protein PMS1, and HNPCC3.
