Anti-MYEF2 antibodies are used in the immunodetection of the protein myelin expression factor 2. In humans, the canonical protein has a reported length of 600 amino acid residues and a mass of 64.1 kDa. Its subcellular localization is in the nucleus. Up to 4 different isoforms have been reported for this protein. It is notably widely expressed in many tissue types. MYEF2 is reported to be a transcriptional repressor of the myelin basic protein gene (MBP). Synonyms for this target antigen include MEF-2, MST156, MSTP156, myelin gene expression factor 2, and HsT18564. MYEF2 gene orthologs have been reported in the mouse, rat, bovine, frog, zebrafish, chimpanzee and chicken species. A number of MYEF2 antibodies have been mentioned in research publications and have associated citations. Western Blot is a widely used application for these antibodies. ELISA, Immunofluorescence, and Immunohistochemistry are also common applications.
