Anti-PRTG antibodies are used in the immunodetection of the protein protogenin. In humans, the canonical protein has a reported length of 1150 amino acid residues and a mass of 127.1 kDa. Its subcellular localization is in the membrane. A member of the DCC protein family, PRTG is believed to play a role in anteroposterior axis elongation. Post-translational modifications have been described, including glycosylation. The PRTG marker can be used to identify Gray Matter MGE Interneurons.* Synonyms for this target antigen include protogenin homolog (Gallus gallus), shen-dan, and immunoglobulin superfamily, DCC subclass, member 5. PRTG gene orthologs have been reported in the mouse, rat, bovine, frog, zebrafish, chimpanzee and chicken species. Some PRTG antibodies may have been used in research and have associated citations. Immunofluorescence is a widely used application for these antibodies. Western Blot and Immunocytochemistry are also common applications.
