Anti-TOMM6 antibodies are used in the immunodetection of the protein translocase of outer mitochondrial membrane 6. In humans, the canonical protein has a reported length of 74 amino acid residues and a mass of 8 kDa. Its subcellular localization is in the mitochondria. It is notably widely expressed in many tissue types. It is a member of the Tom6 protein family. Synonyms for this target antigen include over-expressed breast tumor protein, overexpressed breast tumor protein, translocase of outer membrane 6 kDa subunit homolog, and mitochondrial import receptor subunit TOM6 homolog. TOMM6 gene orthologs have been reported in the mouse, rat, bovine, frog, zebrafish, chimpanzee and chicken species. Western Blot is a widely used application for the TOMM6 antibodies listed below. In addition, ELISA is also a common application.
