Anti-TNRC6C antibodies are used in the immunodetection of the protein trinucleotide repeat containing adaptor 6C. In humans, the canonical protein has a reported length of 1690 amino acid residues and a mass of 176 kDa. Up to 2 different isoforms have been reported for this protein. A member of the GW182 protein family, TNRC6C is reported to play a role in RNA-mediated gene silencing by micro-RNAs (miRNAs). Synonyms for this target antigen include trinucleotide repeat-containing gene 6C protein and trinucleotide repeat containing 6C. TNRC6C gene orthologs have been reported in the mouse, rat, bovine, frog, chimpanzee and chicken species. Some TNRC6C antibodies may have been used in research and have associated citations. These antibodies are most commonly used in ELISA experiments, among other applications.
