Anti-RAD51AP1 antibodies are used in the immunodetection of the protein RAD51 associated protein 1. In humans, the canonical protein has a reported length of 352 amino acid residues and a mass of 38.5 kDa. Its subcellular localization is in the nucleus and chromosomes. Up to 3 different isoforms have been reported for this protein. It is reported to be highly expressed in the testis and thymus. RAD51AP1 is known to be involved with DNA damage pathways and DNA repair. Post-translational modifications have been described, including ubiquitination and sumoylation. Synonyms for this target antigen include RAD51-interacting protein, hsRAD51AP1, and PIR51. RAD51AP1 gene orthologs have been reported in the mouse, rat, bovine, frog, zebrafish, chimpanzee and chicken species. A number of RAD51AP1 antibodies have been mentioned in research publications and have associated citations. Western Blot is a widely used application for these antibodies. In addition, ELISA is also a common application.
