Anti-Phosphatidylinositol glycan anchor biosynthesis class L antibodies are directed against the protein encoded by the gene PIGL in humans. The gene may also be known as CHIME, N-acetylglucosaminyl-phosphatidylinositol de-N-acetylase, and N-acetylglucosaminylphosphatidylinositol deacetylase. Structurally, the protein is reported to be 28.5 kilodaltons in mass. Based on gene name, yeast, fly, canine, porcine, monkey, mouse and rat orthologs may also be found.
