Anti-Cullin 7 antibodies are used in the immunodetection of the protein encoded by the CUL7 gene. In humans, the canonical protein has a reported length of 1698 amino acid residues and a mass of 191.2 kDa. Its subcellular localization is in the golgi and cytoplasm. Alternative splicing is reported to yield 2 different isoforms for this protein. It is reported to be highly expressed in fetal kidney and adult skeletal muscle. A member of the Cullin protein family, it is an important component of the 3M and Cul7-RING(FBXW8) complexes, which mediates the ubiquitination of target proteins. Other names for this target antigen include KIAA0076, dJ20C7.5, and 3M1.
