Anti-CNN3 antibodies are used in the immunodetection of the protein calponin 3. In humans, the canonical protein has a reported length of 329 amino acid residues and a mass of 36.4 kDa. Up to 3 different isoforms have been reported for this protein. It is reported to be expressed in both non-smooth muscle tissues as well as smooth muscle tissues. A member of the Calponin protein family, CNN3 is known to be involved with epithelial cell differentiation. Synonyms for this target antigen include calponin 3, acidic and dJ639P13.2.2 (acidic calponin 3). CNN3 gene orthologs have been reported in the mouse, rat, bovine, frog, zebrafish, chimpanzee and chicken species. A number of CNN3 antibodies have been mentioned in research publications and have associated citations. Western Blot is a widely used application for these antibodies. ELISA and Immunohistochemistry are also common applications.
