Anti-CDH8 antibodies are used in the immunodetection of the protein cadherin 8. In humans, the canonical protein has a reported length of 799 amino acid residues and a mass of 88.3 kDa. Its subcellular localization is in the cell membrane. It is reported to be mainly expressed in the brain. CDH8 is known to be involved with cell adhesion. Post-translational modifications have been described, including glycosylation. Synonyms for this target antigen include Nbla04261 and cadherin 8, type 2. CDH8 gene orthologs have been reported in the mouse, rat, bovine, frog, zebrafish, chimpanzee and chicken species. A number of CDH8 antibodies have been mentioned in research publications and have associated citations. ELISA is a widely used application for these antibodies. Western Blot and Immunohistochemistry are also common applications.
