Anti-MMRN2 antibodies are used in the immunodetection of the protein multimerin 2. In humans, the canonical protein has a reported length of 949 amino acid residues and a mass of 104.4 kDa. Its subcellular localization is in the extracellular matrix and is also secreted. MMRN2 is reported to inhibit endothelial cells motility and acts as a negative regulator of angiogenesis; it down-regulates KDR activation by binding VEGFA. Post-translational modifications have been described, including O-glycosylation.
