Anti-Fib2 antibodies enable researchers to detect and measure the Fib2 antigen in biological samples. This target is a reported synonym of the FGA gene, which encodes fibrinogen alpha chain. This protein is known to function in adaptive immune responses and cell matrix adhesion, among other biological roles. The human version of Fib2 has a canonical amino acid length of 866 residues and a protein mass of 95 kilodaltons, although 2 isoforms have been identified. It is reported to be a secreted protein.
