Anti-CALHM2 antibodies are used in the immunodetection of the protein calcium homeostasis modulator family member 2. In humans, the canonical protein has a reported length of 323 amino acid residues and a mass of 36.2 kDa. Its subcellular localization is in the membrane. Up to 3 different isoforms have been reported for this protein. It is notably widely expressed in many tissue types. A member of the CALHM protein family, CALHM2 is reported to be a pore-forming subunit of a voltage-gated ion channel. Synonyms for this target antigen include calcium homeostasis modulator protein 2, calcium homeostasis modulator 2, family with sequence similarity 26, member B, and FAM26B. CALHM2 gene orthologs have been reported in the mouse, rat, bovine, frog, chimpanzee and chicken species. Some CALHM2 antibodies may have been used in research and have associated citations. These antibodies are most commonly used in Western Blot experiments, among other applications.
