Anti-SDCBP antibodies are used in the immunodetection of the protein syndecan binding protein. In humans, the canonical protein has a reported length of 298 amino acid residues and a mass of 32.4 kDa. Up to 3 different isoforms have been reported for this protein. It is reported to be expressed in the lung cancers, including adenocarcinoma, squamous cell carcinoma and small-cell carcinoma. SDCBP is known to be involved with cytoskeleton organization and chemical synaptic transmission. Post-translational modifications have been described, including phosphorylation. Synonyms for this target antigen include MDA9, ST1, SYCL, TACIP18, syntenin-1, and MDA-9. SDCBP gene orthologs have been reported in the mouse, rat, bovine, frog, zebrafish, chimpanzee and chicken species. Over 100 citations in the literature describe the use of SDCBP antibodies in research. Western Blot is a widely used application for these antibodies. In addition, Immunohistochemistry is also a common application.
