Anti-SMAD family member 4 antibodies are directed against the protein encoded by the gene SMAD4 in humans. The gene may also be known as DPC4, JIP, MADH4, MYHRS, mothers against decapentaplegic homolog 4, and MAD homolog 4. Structurally, the protein is reported to be 60.4 kilodaltons in mass. Based on gene name, canine, porcine, monkey, mouse and rat orthologs may also be found.
