Anti-PEX14 antibodies are used in the immunodetection of the protein peroxisomal biogenesis factor 14. In humans, the canonical protein has a reported length of 377 amino acid residues and a mass of 41.2 kDa. Its subcellular localization is in the peroxisomes. Alternative splicing is reported to yield 2 different isoforms for this protein. A member of a the Peroxin-14 protein family, PEX14 is a known component of the PEX13-PEX14 docking complex, a translocon channel that specifically mediates the import of peroxisomal cargo proteins bound to PEX5 receptor. Synonyms for this target antigen include PBD13A, Pex14p, dJ734G22.2, peroxisomal membrane protein PEX14, NF-E2 associated polypeptide 2, and NAPP2.
