Anti-NELL2 antibodies are used in the immunodetection of the protein neural EGFL like 2. In humans, the canonical protein has a reported length of 816 amino acid residues and a mass of 91.3 kDa. It is known to be a secreted protein. Alternative splicing is reported to yield 4 different isoforms for this protein. NELL2 is known to be required for neuron survival through the modulation of MAPK pathways (By similarity). Post-translational modifications have been described, including glycosylation. Synonyms for this target antigen include protein kinase C-binding protein NELL2, NEL-like protein 2, NEL-related protein 2, neural epidermal growth factor-like 2, and NRP2.
