Anti-PRPF6 antibodies are used in the immunodetection of the protein pre-mRNA processing factor 6. In humans, the canonical protein has a reported length of 941 amino acid residues and a mass of 106.9 kDa. Its subcellular localization is in the nucleus. Up to 2 different isoforms have been reported for this protein. It is widely expressed across many tissue types. PRPF6 is known to be involved in pre-mRNA splicing as component of the U4/U6-U5 tri-snRNP complex, one of the building blocks of the spliceosome. The PRPF6 gene has been associated with the disease, Retinitis pigmentosa. Synonyms for this target antigen include ANT1, C20orf14, Prp6, RP60, SNRNP102, TOM, U5-102K, and ANT-1. PRPF6 gene orthologs have been reported in the mouse, rat, bovine, frog, zebrafish, chimpanzee and chicken species. A number of PRPF6 antibodies have been mentioned in research publications and have associated citations. Western Blot is a widely used application for these antibodies. In addition, ELISA is also a common application.
