Anti-Protein S antibodies are directed against the protein encoded by the gene PROS1 in humans. The gene may also be known as PROS, Vitamin K dependent protein S, PS21, PS22, PS23, and protein S (alpha). Structurally, the protein is reported to be 75.1 kilodaltons in mass. Based on gene name, canine, porcine, monkey, mouse and rat orthologs may also be found.
